To comply with a new operator-driven compliance requirement in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), all customers using international alphanumeric Sender IDs for SMS traffic to the UAE must complete a mandatory Sender ID verification process.
The requirement has been introduced by the UAE operators and applies to previously registered Sender IDs. Failure to complete the verification process may result in the suspension of affected Sender IDs, which could impact SMS delivery to the UAE.
At this time, no widespread blocking has been observed. However, enforcement may begin with limited notice.
Required Documents:
- Certificate of Incorporation, Articles of Association, or equivalent documentation demonstrating that the entity is headquartered outside the UAE (UAE-issued documents alone are not sufficient).
- Government-issued photo ID of the owner or authorized representative.
- Letter of Authorization (LOA) on the company's letterhead authorizing Telesign to verify and manage the Sender ID on the customer's behalf.
- A Letter of Authorization on the brand's letterhead confirming the authorized signatory
- A chain Letter of Authorization for non-direct clients
Required Details:
- Legal entity name and registration number.
- Company website.
- Location of the company's global headquarters (ultimate parent company or highest-level corporate office), together with supporting evidence (e.g., official company documents, corporate publications, or website information). Please note that companies with global headquarters in the UAE are not eligible for this service.
- Business contact details, including the email address of the authorized representative (personal email addresses such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail are not accepted).
✅ Action Required If you receive a request from Telesign regarding your UAE Sender ID(s), please submit all required documentation and information as soon as possible to avoid potential service disruptions. Sender IDs that are not successfully verified may be suspended by the UAE operators, resulting in SMS delivery issues. Our teams are actively working with our connectivity partners and the operators to clarify the implementation timeline and minimize customer impact. We will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this important compliance requirement.
