To combat scam calls and SMS messages, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) introduced the Scam Code Act (https://www.commsalliance.com.au/Documents/all/codes/c661). The new regulation lays out a process for identifying, tracing, and blocking scam calls and messages in Australia.
To comply with the Scam Code Act, a sender ID registration process will be implemented in the next couple of months. While Australian authorities have not established an official start data, Telesign is proactively communicating and encouraging our customers to take action.
To prepare for the sender ID registration, customers can fill-out and sign the attached LOA template. As new information, timelines or additional requirements are made available, Telesign will keep you informed.
