Please verify your client's certificate store or ca-bundle trust the new Root CA "DigiCert Global Root G2" by April 22nd 2024. No other action is required if this RootCA is trusted and using standard PKI path validation for TLS.

Here's what you need to know:

1. Due Date for Applications: The operator requires all Sender ID (SID) submissions by the 20th of each month. SIDs submitted by this deadline will be activated on the 1st of the following month. Any submissions after the 20th of the current month will be processed for activation in the month after the next.
2. No Monthly SID Fee: Good news! Starting this month, there will be no monthly fee for registered SIDs.

To register your Sender ID, the details below are required:

Gambling senders are not allowed and there is no solution to unblock/register them.

Here are the key dates you need to be aware of:

• Application Submission Deadline: To ensure your short code is provisioned on all carriers before the brownout, please submit your application by Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time (ET).
• Provisioning Period: For applications submitted by October 26, 2023, participating carriers will provision your short code between November 14 and December 12, 2023.

Rest assured, the Short Code Council will maintain ongoing meetings throughout November and December to review applications. Provisioning activities will commence starting January 8, 2024, with Freedom/Shaw, followed by Rogers and TELUS on January 9, 2024.

Investigating - Important Update for Crypto-Related Use Cases in the US:

Effective immediately, US operators will no longer accept or approve new crypto campaigns, including requests for various crypto use cases. This policy applies to all US Sender IDs, including 10DLCs, SCs, and TFNs. There will be very limited exceptions going forward. These exceptions will mainly be for established and prominent crypto companies in the US, specifically for OTP (One-Time Password) content. Unfortunately, startup or less established crypto brands won't be eligible and may receive refusal.

Please note that there is no official list of crypto companies currently accepted by US operators. Each request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure compliance with the new guidelines.

All previously approved cases will remain unaffected for the time being. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as they become available.

With effect from August 1, 2023, we are replacing the existing Section 3(d) of the AUP with a new section:

(d) not use the Services or the Licensed Data for the purpose of assessing creditworthiness;

New Section 3(d):
(d) not use the Services or the Licensed Data for the purpose(s) of solely automated decision-making producing legal effects or similarly affecting the User, such as:
1. Cancellation of a contract;
2. Entitlement to or denial of a particular social benefit granted by law, such as child or housing benefit;
3. Refused admission to a country or denial of citizenship;
4. Decisions that affect someone’s financial circumstances, such as their eligibility to credit (i.e.: assessing creditworthiness);
5. Decisions that affect Users’ access to health services;

8. Decisions that affect Users’ access to housing;

We now expect restrictions on long codes in other countries within the +1 dialing code (i.e. Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands). Many customers are currently using shared TFNs (Toll-Free Numbers) as a solution for delivery toward these regions, however these will no longer permit non-One-Time Passcode (OTP) traffic.

All customers who send messages to +1 countries, that are not US/CA, must obtain a dedicated TFN to ensure uninterrupted transactions to these destinations. We strongly encourage customers to use the "My Telesign" portal to proceed with the procurement process.

Here are the Key Details of this Plan:

• Common SenderID: Under this plan, a ten-digit number is needed as the common SenderID for all users, starting with 0005.
• Persistent SenderID: The assigned SenderID will remain unchanged even if users switch to Mobile Number Portability (MNP), ensuring continuity and consistency in messaging.
• Free of Charge: Users can enjoy the benefits of this plan free of charge for sending messages (FTEU), making it a cost-effective option for all.
• Enhanced Security: Each carrier will issue the SenderID after a thorough review process. This measure is aimed at combating phishing scams and ensuring secure communication with users.

This is akin to a “spam filter and spam bin”. Consumers are advised to exercise caution upon receiving such SMS, as these are non-registered Sender IDs. After 6 months, this Sender ID will be closed and all SMS with Sender IDs that are still not registered by then will be blocked.
The organizations that want to register Sender IDs will register them directly with SSIR. Interested organizations can contact the Singapore Network Information Centre ("SGNIC”) at smsregistry@sgnic.sg to start the registration process. Registration opens on 31 October 2022.
